Unique, Prairie Style home designed by the noted architects Bentley and Merman in 1919.  Percy Dwight Bentley was a contemporary of Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan.  Their influence is seen in Bentley’s many Prairie Style residences, especially throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota.  This home was owned by Dr. O.E. Satter until 1984 when it was purchased by the Drs. Tom & Lynn McWilliams. 

The home has been totally renovated in accordance with plans developed by the Madison Architect Bruce Zahn, and executed by Master Builder Carroll Polodna.  The home exterior is classic Prairie Style cedar and stucco.  The home has 4,100 square feet of finished living space on three levels.  Additionally there is a 2-car garage and separate carport.  The upper lever consists of 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths.  The master bedroom is connected to the master bathroom, which has a double vanity, window seat and fold away ironing center.  The master bedroom has 2 large walk in closets with closet organizers.  Unique to the master bedroom and bathroom is the built-in dressers, drawers and headboard, eliminating the need for bedroom furniture. 

The main floor has a spectacular forma living room with brick wall fireplace.  There is a den with leaded glass French doors off the entry foyer.  The dining room, family room, and kitchen are designed to be open to each other.  The dining room has upper cabinets with leaded windows.  The lower cabinets serve as a buffet and have corian surfaces.  The kitchen is finished in custom built cherry cabinets, corian surfaces, tile floors and premuim appliance.  There is a beautiful fireplace and entertainment center in the family room.  This leads to a mini-study off the kitchen, then to a mud room in from the garage and carport.   

The lower level is geared for entertaining and enjoyment, with a subdued blue as a predominant color.  The cozy fireplace with wood box reflects the same character as the living room and like the other fireplaces ca burn wood or gas.  The basement kitchen is a gem; laminate covered cabinets and bar, all recess with wood trim.  There is a locking liquor cabinet, lighted wind rack and unusual floor of genuine cherry, vinyl clad for easy care.  Custom built-in toy boxes border the walls are all on casters and provide both seating and storage.  There is also a finished room with a ½ bath on the lower level that can be used as an exercise room or a 4th bedroom.
